Albert IJspeert has a degree in mechanical engineering and worked for many years at CERN, the European Laboratory for Particle Physics, located in Geneva,Switzerland
At CERN he developed the superconducting corrector magnets for the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). In that process he invented the “Diaphragm Technique” used to strongly center and clamp the superconducting coils in these magnets
CERN patented the technique and IJspeert’s company became a spin-off from CERN in order to develop this technique for further industrial applications in fields as different as turbines, electric motors, work holding and profile fixation.
He has a vast experience in: electro-mechanics and magnetism, and this in environments of vacuum and nuclear radiation
Until recently he was also active as an elder in the Mennonite church.
He was one of the three winners of the Swisspor Innovation Contest 2006 thanks to novel ideas using vacuum for the insulation of houses.
IJspeert Technologies won a gold and a silver medal respectively at the 2007 International Exhibition of Inventions at Geneva.
